Issue #3
The Buzz on Chiropractic,
Health and Longevity

I just had to do a newsletter about chiropractic, since I have so much personal experience with it and its results. In fact, a year ago when my wrist and hand were in so much pain, and shooting up through my arm, I was sure I’d have to have carpel tunnel surgery. As a final last-ditch effort, I called a local chiropractic office. Impressed with their experience and methods, I went in. After one week the pain was almost all gone. After two weeks, I was back to normal and have been ever since. Then we began work on chronic neck pain, and the results were practically miraculous.

Stuff happens when we hit 50 -- or even younger. I (and my family) personally know that chiropractic is amazing for pain relief, all kinds of tension, mobility, and improving range of motion, to name a few issues. The paragraphs below are from Dr. Kurt Hornnes, my chiropractor. If you are a baby boomer or older and are experiencing pain or discomfort, I recommend giving it a try.

Maximizing Health and Longevity
By Dr. Kurt Hornnes of Northfield Chiropractic
“The next century will be dominated by the concerns of the elderly” according Ken Minaker, MD., Chief of Geriatric Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and associate professor at Harvard Medical School. By the year 2050, our average life expectancy is projected to be 82.6 years (up from today’s average life expectancy of 72.1 years for men and 78.8 years for women.) The census bureau predicts that 3 million baby boomers will live to be 100 years old or more! Chiropractic is just one of many ways to maximize your health longevity.

Chiropractic adjustments help to keep the spine flexible and the nervous system functioning at its highest potential. When vertebrae become fixed, they can put pressure on the nerves as they exit from the spine. Chiropractic adjustments help to relieve that pressure, which improves the communication between the brain and the body. With a better functioning nervous system, and a movable spine, chiropractic patients enjoy more vitality and energy. Adjustments are safe, and they feel great!"
For more information about chiropractic and how it may help you, visit this very interesting web site with tons of unique information: I especially am fascinated by their article on a product called Eyelights – special tinted light therapy glasses that stimulate serotonin and dopamine in the brain. Very cool. Check it out!
