Homemade Cheesy Snacks

by Regina
(Mississippi)

These delicious, cheesy biscuit-like snacks are made with cheddar and seasonings...with a little sherry added in for special flavor! Serve for snacks, brunch or breakfasts. Or even with dinner.

Ingredients You Will Need

2 cups of flour
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon of onion powder (or you can sautee a little chopped onion to add in instead)
1 tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup of Sherry
2 Tablespoons of oil
1 1/4 cups of ground sesame seed (sesame meal - you can also buy it ground)
1 cup of grated cheddar cheese

Mix the salt, garlic and onion powder in with the flour. Set aside. Next, mix together the cheese, sherry and egg. Add in the flour and seasonings. Mix and then knead a little. Add in the oil and knead. Then add in the sesame meal, a little at a time, and knead.

Take off pieces of the dough to make balls about the size of a large marble. Put each onto a cookie sheet. Gently press it so it flattens just a little.

Bake for about 15 minutes at 450 F.
They're really good served warm, with a little butter.
